Whereas in Canvas the courses are centralized, in StudyCoach the students are centralized in the student list. The student list in a nutshell
Teachers, coaches, department coaches and managers can access a student list in StudyCoach. Which students a user with a certain role sees in the student list can be read in the article 'Roles'. The student list appears in multiple places within StudyCoach such as within a landing page or in a course overview.
In the current article, the coach's perspective has been used to give the most complete picture of the functionalities within the student list. It may be that for your role or within your institution, certain functionalities are not visible or are not used.

Working efficiently with the student list
- The logo
Click on the (StudyCoach) logo to always be able to navigate back to your landing page in StudyCoach. For example, when you are in StudyCoach in a course overview of a specific student, you can go directly back to your landing page via the logo.Would you like to replace the StudyCoach logo with your own image? - Terms
In the student list, you can filter by terms. When you filter on a term, the students who are registered for the courses that fall within this term will appear.Are you a manager and want to know more about terms? Check out the article

- Accounts
In the student list, you can filter by accounts. When you filter on an account, the students who are registered for the courses that are structured within this account will appear.Are you a manager and want to learn more about accounts? Check out the article

- Search
To quickly look up a user or course, you can type the name of the user or course at the search icon. For example, you can immediately find the student you are looking for in the student list. - Notifications
As soon as a note is shared with other users, all those involved receive a notification. The number of new or unread notifications is visible as a number in the blue badge on the bell icon. Read more about this in the article 'Notifications'.
- Role switcher
Users can have multiple roles in StudyCoach and in this particular case the user is both a coach and a manager. This double role allows the user to see the role switcher that can change their view from the coach view shown above to the 'Manager dashboard'. - Filtering on labels
Here the coach can select the behaviour of the label filter. There are two options And / Or.
Selecting And will make sure that only students that have all selected labels are shown as a result.
Selecting Or will show any student that has any of the labels selected. - Labels available for filtering
These are all the available labels that have been created by the manager. By clicking on a label the coach will filter the table below to show students that have that label or combination of labels depending on the option chosen above.

The amount of current active enrollments that the student has. - Assignments submitted
This indicator shows a few different things. First let's take a look at what shows up once the coach hovers on the indicator.- 31 assignments that were submitted on time, represented by the green bar.
- 3 assignments that were submitted after the deadline, represented by the orange bar.
- 4 assignments with due dates that were not submitted yet.
- The rest of the assignment shown as grey on the bar because they don't have a due date, therefore it doesn’t show up on the other indicators.
Once an assignment with no due date is submitted it also becomes green.
Only submissions from active courses are taken into account in this indicator.
- Last login
The last login indicates when a student last entered the Canvas environment. Clicking on the word "Last login" will change the chronological order of the student list. - Checkbox / Profile picture
The profile pictures from Canvas are displayed in the student list in StudyCoach. When you click on the checkbox for the profile picture of one or more students, it is possible to link labels, coaches and send messages to multiple students at once.Want to know more? - Sending a message
It is possible in the student list to quickly send a message to a specific student or multiple students.Want to know more? Take a look at the article 'Messaging & notes'.
For the manager it is also possible to assign or remove a coach relation or user from this action menu. Read more about 'User management'. - Assigning a label
The label symbol allows you to assign a label to a student as a coach, department coach and manager.Want to know more? Then take a look at the article 'Labels' In addition, a student summary text can be added here behind an i-icon, of which the visibility can be set for all roles in the 'Settings'.
- Pinning
It is possible to pin a student by clicking on the pin symbol. The symbol will then turn blue and the student will always appear at the top of the student list, even when you consult StudyCoach at a later time. This can be useful when you have a lot of contact with a particular student, for example. When you click on a blue pin symbol, the symbol turns gray again and the student is no longer pinned.
