Data Fields Update

Dear reader,

Things have been quiet for a while, but we sure have been busy! In this newsletter, we would love to show you all the new things we’ve been working on. 

One of the biggest updates is a simplified usage of data fields in Qualtrics LTI which means less work for administrators as from now on instructors can create surveys more easily.

No more switching to Qualtrics to edit the survey flow

While previously in order to activate data fields you had to switch to Qualtrics, it is now possible to activate all the configured data fields from your Qualtrics LTI administrator in the survey settings. This can be simply done by pressing the “Activate” button to move it to the right container and enable the data field. Whenever a submission is made for this survey, the activated Canvas data (e.g. course name) will be sent over to Qualtrics automatically.

All the existing surveys have been migrated to this new system and should not change the behaviour. If you have any questions on this new system, please contact support@drieam.com.

Duplicate data fields

With the revamp of the data fields, we also added the possibility to duplicate them. This allows you to easily set up multiple data fields of the same type, either 'Selection', 'Custom Text', or 'CSV file upload' for bulk surveys.

An example use case is with the selection data field 'Instructor name'. This allows you to evaluate multiple instructors in the same survey.

Small fixes

• Improved accessibility through a new ability to navigate the menu using a keyboard.
• Users are now notified about the changed behavior of data fields. This message can be permanently dismissed.
• Users are automatically logged in and do not need to enter their Qualtrics credentials when taking fixed personal surveys.
