Insight in Feedback (feedback tab on goal card)

Modified on Tue, 27 Aug at 12:07 PM

This knowledge base will not be updated after 27 August. You can find the new knowledge base on: knowledgebase.portflow.app

This article is about the feedback tab in the goal card, which provides a chronological overview of all received feedback on that goal. This contains an overview of all narrative feedback from progress reviews over time and also contains feedback that students have linked from their collections and evidence that pertains to that goal. Moreover, this chronological overview is filterable on role (student, expert, teacher, coach, external, etc.), type, and time.

Note: Only the portfolio owner and full access visitors can access the feedback tab in a live portfolio. The feedback tab in a snapshot is visible to everyone.

Feedback that was received on progress reviews, pertaining to a goal, is automatically added to the aggregated goal feedback. In addition, students can link feedback that they have received on specific pieces of evidence or in collections to one or more goals. The student is able to highlight the content within that comment that is relevant to the selected goal(s). Moreover, the student can optionally indicate why they have selected that particular piece of feedback to be linked to that goal.

If you are looking for a tutorial on how to add feedback to the feedback overview, click here.

On the goal card, click on feedback (1) to go to the feedback tab. If desired, filter (2) the feedback on type, date (before or after a certain date), or role. The date (3) indicated when the feedback was given and the overview is sorted by date (latest first).

The title of the feedback (4) is the title of the evidence, collection or progress review. The distinction between these three contexts is shown with a corresponding icon (box, folder and magnifying glass respectively). If the feedback is related to a specific sub-goal, the grey label indicates the name of the sub-goal (5). Clicking the feedback title brings you to the relevant context. You need to close the goal card first to see the context behind it.

The feedback is labeled with its 'type' (6): blue for comment (unsolicited feedback), orange for feedback request (solicited feedback) and purple for progress review. The yellow highlight (7) is created by the student to indicate the relevant section. Students can add a note to provide extra context. For feedback of type 'progress review' the quantitative feedback is shown with a preview of the rubric scale and selected level (8).

Feedback can be removed from the feedback overview by the portfolio owner (9). If feedback is updated or edited in the collection/evidence window, these changes will not be shown in the feedback tab.
