Evaluation element - adding another program result

Modified on Tue, 5 Nov at 3:31 PM

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Every course inside of a program can result in a grade, score and certificate. As an educator, you might want to capture additional results in a program, for something which is not (directly related to) a course. For example award a certificate for completing a block. Or a grade for an activity within a program like a practical/theoretical exam. To capture these additional results in the program, you can use the evaluation element.

Note: evaluation elements are not visible for participants

Evaluation element

An evaluation element can be added by clicking "Evaluation" after clicking "+ Element" from a block or program edition.

Once an evaluation element is part of a personal program, you can start awarding the extra results. Just like you are used to with courses.

What an evaluation element can and cannot do

An evaluation element can:

  • Be graded
  • Be passed
  • Get a certificate
  • Be exempted
  • Be part of a block
  • Be added to a program edition
  • Prevent autocompletion of a program. If an evaluation element is part of a personal program, it should be completed for the program to autocomplete.

An evaluation element cannot:

  • Be added twice to a block
  • Result in enrollments
  • Be added to a personal program as 'extracurricular activity'. It can only be part of a personal program when linked from the edition.
  • Be automatically awarded
  • Be listed on the website
  • Be shown in the student / teacher / business portal
  • Carry over results from one program to the other automatically
  • Be mentioned, by name, in the certificate awarded email. It does trigger this email if enabled for educator.
