This article contains some key definitions related to Eduframe.
Opportunity | An opportunity is a sales opportunity and can be someone who is interested in a course or program but doesn't want to enrol yet or has to be put on the waiting list as the course is already full. Opportunities can be made from the backend but also from the website. An example to implement this is to install a "provisional reservation" or "keep me posted" form on the website. |
Relations | Relations are all contacts and organizations in Eduframe. This includes teachers and participants. Most of the contacts will have their own account so they can login into Eduframe themselves. There is also a possibility to create a contact without a login. When creating the contact you should uncheck the checkbox of "Email login to contact". That means the contact will not create a password and therefore won't be able to login into Eduframe. Organizations can have multiple contacts and a contact can be linked to multiple organizations. You can also choose one or multiple key contacts within an organization who will be able to see all information of all contacts within that specific organization. |
Participant | A participant is a contact that does courses. Referred to by some as 'Student'. |
Organization | An organization is an organization account that can contain specific information of that organization and to which orders, invoices and contacts can be linked. |
Key-contact | Key contact is a special role that can be assigned to a contact belonging to an organization. When a contact is key contact of a given organization, the contact can access the business portal and see all orders, enrolments and contacts of that organization on the business portal. |
Category | A category can be used to group Program Templates and Course Templates. A category can also have sub categories. The categories that you define in Eduframe will be translated to sub accounts in Canvas automatically. Categories can also be used on the website/catalog to group your courses and make it easy for users to search within a certain topic. |
Product | A product can be any of Eduframe products: - Program template, edition and block - Course template and edition |
Program template | A program template is the template of multiple program editions. It contains general information about the program such as price and minimum/maximum amount of participants, which can be displayed on the website. Participants cannot enrol for a program template. |
Program edition | A program edition is based on the template and contains a set of elements: courses. Participants can enrol for a Program edition, and not in a Program. When a participant enrols for a certain edition, he/she will be automatically enrolled for all the courses that are linked to this edition. |
Element | A program edition consists of elements. An element is a combination of a course template and a course edition. You add course templates as elements to the program edition and if course editions have been created already, you can immediately enrol the participant for one of those editions. The course edition can also be specified later if this is uncertain or if it is not planned yet. |
Course template | A course template is the general information of a course which can be used on the website/catalog. |
Course edition | A course edition is an edition of the course template which is often displayed as "name of course template - starting date - variant - location". A course edition is the smallest event a participant can enrol for and it can consist out of different meetings and can have different statuses:
|
Meeting | A meeting can be online or offline and it has a date, time, location and teachers. Participants cannot enrol for meetings, therefore it doesn't have a price. Meetings are the only events that will be shown in the calendar. If you connect Eduframe to Canvas, a meeting will automatically be synchronised with the Canvas calendar. |
Order | Within Eduframe an order can be made through the "sign up" page or on the backend as admin. When a customer is visiting the website, it is possible to immediately enrol yourself into a course (not yet for programs) by filling in the sign up form. This order always gets the status "requested" in Eduframe. The admin still has to confirm the order before the enrolment is "confirmed". The second way is creating an order at the backend as admin by clicking on "add order" in Eduframe. From the backend it is possible to enrol multiple participants for courses & programs. An order has different statuses:
|
Enrolment | An enrolment means a participant is enrolled for a certain course or program. An enrolment can have different statuses:
|
Invoice | A concept invoice will be created when saving an order that has a price attached. An invoice can have different statuses:
|
Trigger | A trigger is an event that can trigger a follow up action. For example: an enrollment being an event that can trigger an e-mail template to be sent. |
