[Admin] - Power Users and Departments

An administrator of Canvas or Brightspace (with root account management rights) can grant a colleague permission to manage templates or rubric scales. To do so, follow these steps:


Promote Power Users

  1. In Portfolio, go to the 'Admin' tab
  2. Click on the 'Power Users' tab
  3. Click the 'Promote User' button
  4. Locate the user by email address or name (1)
  5. Choose 'Template creator' and/or 'Rubric scales creator' as the authority level (2)
  6. Select the correct department (3). If you need to create a department first, you can read how to do so in the section below. 
  7. Click 'Promote user'


The user now has access to the Templates tab and can manage and create templates (associated with their allocated departments) and/or manage and create rubric scales.



Manage Departments

Departments are groups of power users and can be managed in the Admin tab (1), subtab 'Departments' (2). You can add departments (3) and give them a name (4). In this overview, you can see how many templates are associated with the department (5) and how many members it has (6). In the action menu (7), you can rename or delete a department.
