[Teacher] - Create portfolio assignment

As a teacher, you can set up an assignment in a Canvas or Brightspace course where the user can submit a locked version of their Portflow portfolio. 


Create a Canvas assignment to submit their portfolio


The way of creating an assignment depends on whether the feature option 'Assignment Enhancements - Student' is enabled or not. It can be enabled at the account- or course level under settings (feature options).



With Assignment Enhancements enabled

  1. Go to the Canvas course you want to create the assignment in
  2. Click on 'assignments' in the course menu
  3. Click on '+ assignment'
  4. Give the assignment a name, description (mention the assignment involves portfolio submission), and define the points and assignment group
  5. Choose under 'submission type','online (1)
  6. Pick at 'online entry options', 'upload files (2)'
  7. Fill in the rest of the form
  8. Click on 'save & publish'

With Assignment Enhancements disabled

  1. Go to the Canvas course you want to create the assignment in
  2. Click on 'assignments' in the course menu
  3. Click on '+ assignment'
  4. Give the assignment a name, description (mention the assignment involves portfolio submission), and define the points and assignment group
  5. Choose under 'submission type','online (1)
  6. Pick at 'online entry options', 'website-URL (2)'
  7. Fill in the rest of the form
  8. Click on 'save & publish'


Create a Brightspace assignment for submitting their portfolio

  1. Go to the course in which the assignment should be
  2. Click on 'Activities' in the navigation bar. Create a new assignment.
  3. Select 'Text submission' as submissin type and provide an assignment instruction
  4. Save and publish the assignment
